Dr Sunil K. Sharma
Carbon Accreditation Specialist and Nature-Based Solutions Expert
Sunil is one of the world’s leading experts in nature-based carbon sequestration and certification. With more than 25 years of experience in land use, forestry, and climate solutions, he is one of only a handful of individuals globally accredited by VERRA (AFOLU and Jurisdictional & Nested REDD+), the UNFCCC (CDM Roster of Experts), and the Gold Standard to design, assess, and verify carbon projects.
He has worked on land and forest-based carbon initiatives across Australia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and has supported government and community efforts in countries like Nepal, Indonesia, and Australia to strengthen climate resilience through practical, ground-based action. His recent work also includes advising on ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting for organisations navigating carbon and nature-related disclosure requirements.
As co-founder of TerraVantage, Sunil leads the development of fit-for-purpose carbon removal solutions. These include biochar, soil carbon, revegetation, and other methods that turn local waste and biomass into measurable climate gains. He ensures our projects meet the highest international standards — while delivering practical benefits for farmers, communities, and the planet.
Dr Stephen M. Madigan
Environmental Policy Specialist and Engagement Lead
Stephen brings over 25 years of experience in environmental policy, marine and freshwater science, and regulatory compliance. He has worked across federal and state government, delivering major sustainability initiatives with a strong focus on practical implementation and stakeholder trust.
Stephen has led community engagement, government relations, and public consultation across a wide range of environmental programs — from Coorong restoration and aquaculture reform to REDD+ MRV frameworks and natural capital assessments. He has also supported community-led forest carbon initiatives in Nepal and currently contributes to national compliance performance reporting with the Inspector-General of Water Compliance.
As co-founder of TerraVantage, Stephen leads on strategy, stakeholder engagement, and delivery. He ensures our carbon removal programs are grounded in science, aligned with policy, and built through genuine partnerships with farmers, communities, and institutions.
